ARUNDHATI DARUSANAM | Star Viewing Ritual

Following the three rounds around the fire, the priest points and instructs the couple to look up into the sky to see what is known as the Arundhati star, scientifically referred to as Alcor in the Ursa Major constellation. This star symbolizes perfect harmony between wisdom and fidelity. The act of viewing the star following the Metti ceremony expresses that true marriage rests upon both moral strength and spiritual clarity.
